What is PSHEE?
PSHEE stands for Personal, Social, Health and Economic Education.
Why is it important?
All schools are required to teach a curriculum that 'promotes the spiritual, moral, cultural, mental and physical development of pupils at the school and of society, and prepare pupils at the school for the opportunities, responsibilities and experiences of later life'.
(Education Act, 2002)
We aim to give children exciting opportunities to explore the importance of all of these aspects in PSHEE with the vision that they will then be equipped with these skills for their later life. To support this, we are using a new scheme of work called SCARF.
What is SCARF?
SCARF stands for 'Safety, Caring, Achievement, Resilience and Friendship'. We feel that in the current climate, this new resource has come at the perfect time for our children and wider community and we look forward to delivering regular and nurturing weekly sessions to the children in our care.
