Visits and Visitors
We are fortunate to have a range of visitors to help deliver high quality and engaging collective worship. Rev Jo, Mrs Grice, Mr & Mrs Lambert, Mrs Berry and Open the Book all visit the school to lead the children in worship. We are also fortunate to have termly Prayer Spaces set up for all children to reflect upon the 'Big Questions', by participating in a variety of accessible activities.
As part of our RE curriculum we visit St Helen's where the children have participated in many activities such as knitted Bible and the Christmas Tree festival. We invite every Y3 child to our multi-faith trip where they get to experience three different places of worship: a cathedral, a Buddhist meditation Centre and a Gurdwara. Our Y5 children visit Belgrave Road in Leicester to broaden their experiences of our multi0faith society, and visit a Hindu Temple. One of our most memorable and moving experiences for the Y6 children is our five mile pilgrimage to Leicester Cathedral. Along the way, and in the service itself at the Cathedral, the children have time to reflect on the strong Christian foundations of life at Sharnford and how they have prepared them ready for the next part of their journey to high school.
