Autumn 2

Welcome back!  We hope you all enjoyed your half term break.  We have an exciting term ahead in EYFS. Our topic is ‘Let’s Celebrate and Terrific Toys’ and we will be exploring a range of different topics.  In our Understanding the World topic, we will be finding out about Guy Fawkes and Bonfire Night.  We will also be learning about toys in the past and finding out what toys our parents, grandparents and great grandparents used to play with and compare them with today’s toys. In Science, we will continue our work on comparing the seasons, looking particularly at Autumn and Winter. We will also be exploring how toys move and looking at the different materials toys are made from.  In RE we will be exploring the Nativity Story and we will be finding out how Hindu’s celebrate Diwali. The children will also begin to rehearse for our Christmas Play. Our coaching sessions for traditional sports will continue with Luke this term, something we know that the children really enjoy!  We will continue to keep you updated week by week on the things that we are learning in class on the school website and via Tapestry. We will also continue to share your child’s learning highlights on Tapestry.
