E-Safety

E-Safety is ever becoming a more important focus as our global community advances in this technological world. On this page you will find out a bit of what we do in school to educate our children about staying safe and protecting themselves online. You will also find some useful link that you may find useful for yourself or others members of your family.

What do we do in school?

Safer Internet Day

Each year we celebrate Safer Internet day and each class will be asked to complete activities relevant to each year focus.

Our Curriculum

A large focus in our newly created computing curriculum is on E-Safety. Every year the children will spend at least half a term focusing on Internet Safety and this will be revisited throughout the year. We teach the children to embrace and make the most of the internet, but making smart decisions whilst doing so. Our curriculum empowers children to use the web safely and wisely, so they can be confident explorers of the online world.

Online safety guide for parents from Leicestershire County Council

Simon Genders (Leicestershire County Council - Safeguarding Development Team) has created this presentation for schools to share with parents to support and encourage safe online behaviour at home. It is about 20 minutes long but is well worth a watch.

What to do if I have some concerns about my child's safety online

If you are worried about your child's safety online, or something doesn't sit right with you, have a look at  the useful links we have recommended above. It's important to talk, so we welcome you to talk to our staff about anything that may be concerning you.
