Late/Absence Procedures
At Sharnford C E Primary School, we value parental support with children's attendance and punctuality.
The children can come into school from 8.45am each day but should all be seated and ready to start their first task by 8.55am every day. Any child arriving after this time should go directly to the office and will be marked as late in the register. Please note that gates will be locked at 8.55am and access will be through the main office. Any lates will be recorded by the office. If children are late for school, they often miss out on important work and instructions for the day. Working with our Family Support Worker, we closely monitor punctuality as well as attendance.
If your child is poorly, please let the school office know either by sending an email or phoning. If there is no one in the school office, you can leave your message on the school answer-phone. Please ensure that you include your child's name, class / teacher or year group, together with brief symptoms of the illness.
Guidance on infection control in schools and other childcare settings is available on the Public Health Agency website here. Further information relating to the recommended period to be kept away from school after vomiting, diarrhoea, chicken pox and any other illness can be found on the guidance.
Please note that the school are not able to authorise any holidays in term time.
